Hale on Wheels
Date: September 15, 2018
Location: Plainview, TX
Details: Hale on Wheels is a fully supported recreational bike ride for road bikes held in Plainview, HALE County, Texas, during the annual "Cowboy Days" celebration. Bike routes are 23, 30, 46, and 63 miles, all on smooth, flat, lightly traveled or wide shouldered roads. This year we will be adding a 3.10 mile and 1.00 mile Cruiser Ride for families and causal riders which stays within the Plainview city limits.
The Texas Time Trials

Details: Lot's of racing available. There is the Tejas 500 RAAM-Qualifier with 48, 42, and 36 hour limits, the Texas 24 hour Time Trial, the Texas 6-Hour shoot out, and the Texas 26.5 mile Sprint.
Third Thursday Time Trial Series Race 7

Details: Chaparral Cycling Club, as a part of the West Texas Cycling Association, will be hosting this year's Third Thursday Time Trial series. We will be looking for a few volunteers to help at each event as the series can not happen without you. No experience necessary. Meet at the intersection of CR7300 & CR3600 (Horseshoe Bend) at 6:00pm. Race starts at 6:30pm. The course is an 11 mile counterclockwise circuit heading east on CR7300, then north on CR3860, then west on CR6950 and finally south on CR3700 back to the start.
No Country for Old Men

Details: Its' namesake comes from the movie No Country for Old Men because the race takes place in the region the movie was filmed. No Country for Old Men is truly a race of endurance as well as physical and mental challenge. It is born from RAAM experience. You will discover parts of the route that are reminiscent of the moonscape terrain of Tuba City and Kayenta, climbs similar to the Yarnell Grade and the wide open vastness of the Colorado plains. Enjoy the ugly beauty, appreciate the desolation and respect the ruggedness of this immense land.
LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin

Details: Join riders from around the country for the 2018 LIVESTRONG Challenge on October 21st,2018! Chose from our 20, 45, 65, or 100-mile bike routes through beautiful Texas hill country. For over 20 years, we have been changing cancer care in Austin and beyond, and we are excited to be able to reach even more survivors through the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes. We are also proud to offer a 1-mile fun run for participants and supporters of all abilities. After the ride or run, participants and spectators are invited to the post-event party in the Challenge Village where you will find delicious local food and beer, music, vendors and a fun time for all ages.
